Non League players raise money for Ukraine

The Groundwork and Wakefield Athletic players who raised almost £500 for families in Ukraine

A host of Non League players turned out on Sunday to help raise money for UNICEF’s emergency appeal for families in Ukraine.

Former Glasshoughton Welfare joint manager Darren Hoimes’ Groundwork team ran out winners against Wakefield Athletic.

Almost £500 was raised. and the likes of Lewis Stephens, Nathan Perks, Adam Hayton, Matt Semley, Tom Booth, Mat Zaniewski, Mark Ferguson and young Matt Cuncliffe were among those who played.

Holmes said: It is hoped it will become an annual event.

“Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to play and support the day.
