Handsworth have revealed a trio of new signings and it is only the beginning as more recruitment news at Olivers Mount is to come soon.

Two of the captures are from the Northern Premier League and all three add steel to the squad of players they have retained from last season.

Sam Finlaw and Michael Trench have arrived from Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Ex-Staveley Miners Welfare central midfielder Finlaw played in the 3-1 win over Chesterfield Under 21s and scored the goal of his career!

Left-sided player Trench was present but injured so did not take part.

Joining Finlaw in midfield is set-piece expert Johnathan Williams who leaves Maltby Main to move to Handsworth.

He is vastly experienced from spells at clubs such as Frickley Athletic, Belper Town and Gainsborough Trinity.

Williams featured in the Chesterfield clash.

Joint manager Jason Dodsworth told Non League Yorkshire: “They are three big signings.

“We have signed two players who will strengthen us in the middle of the park and another who will strengthen us on the left.

“We identified early doors who we wanted and luckily for us they have agreed to come.”
