Pontefract assistant steps down

NPL Division One East

Pontefract Collieries assistant manager Andy Seed

The assistant manager of Pontefract Collieries has had to step down due to increasing commitments.

The very popular Andy Seed has parted ways from the Colls – just over a year since returning to Beechnut Lane to be Craig Rouse’s assistant.

Former Glasshoughton Welfare and Ossett Albion midfielder Seed was previously captain of Pontefract during their unprecedented rise from the Toolstation NCEL Division One to the Northern Premier League League in two seasons.

Since joining the management team he was at Rouse’s side during their epic FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie with FC Halifax Town.

Pontefract say they will be more news on Rouse’s backroom team in the coming days.

The sad news comes just days after the much-heralded arrival of former Frickley Athletic striker Gav Allott and versatile .Harry Spratt.
