Campion defeat local rivals Albion

Campion 3-2 Albion Sports 

Campion edged a completive clash with local rivals Albion Sports to seize initial control of Group B in the Yorkshire Trophy.

Campion gained the lead pretty early on.

Their new defender Dan Illingworth, a signing from Silsden leapt like a salmon to head home Aidan Kirby’s corner.

Albion responded well and caused their hosts problems. 

Forward Jahro Parchment equalised after finishing off a free flowing move.

Campion went in front again soon after though after Joe Colley pounced from another corner.

Albion were unlucky not to be level at half-time.

Tabish Hussain missed an open goal – a chance that will give him nightmares for weeks.

The visitors also had a goal disallowed for offside.

Campion increased their lead on the hour.

Paddy Sykes avoided an offside flag after firing home the rebound from a saved shot.

A goal from a trialist brought Albion back into it but Campion successfully saw the final 15 minutes out.
