Silsden beat Avenue with new faces in side

New Silsden joint manager Luke Lavery and Matthew Cavanagh

Silsden have continued with their recruitment drive and four more new players have been confirmed.

All of them were involved in Silsden’s 2-1 defeat of National North side Bradford (Park Avenue). 

Defender Alex Laird has arrived from Eccleshill United while George Scocki is centre-back from Barnoldswick Town.

Attacker Arale Mohamed played for Athletico FC in the Yorkshire Amateur League last season.

Jake Hemmingway is a young left-back from FC Halifax Town.

On the retained front, Liam Hudson, Lewis Gartland and Harry Parsons’ future are resolved.

Silsden had to come from behind to beat Avenue.

Jos Bradshaw equalised from the penalty in the 22nd minute after a trialist had given Avenue an early lead.

Lamin Jaddeh hit the winner seven minutes into the second half.
