Mouth-watering start for Wombwell Town

EV2 Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League

Wombwell Town manager Karl Rose

Wombwell Town’s opening game in the Premier Division on the 3rd September is a mouth-watering prospect.

The opening day fixtures have been released and Wombwell face a battle at Dodworth Miners Welfare.

The connections between the two sides are strong as Dodworth manager Darren Young and assistant James Dudgeon used to work under Wombwell head honcho Karl Rose.

Donavan Cotton’s first game in permanent charge of Houghton Main is a trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves.

Darren Hepworth’s Hepworth United will host Handsworth Reserves.

Fellow kids on the block South Kirkby Colliery will entertain North Gawber.

In Division Two, Doncaster City’s inaugural game is a local derby with Askern Miners.
