Lee Garside made a stunning return from retirement by scoring the winner for Athersley Rec in the Barnsley derby 1-0 win over Worsbrough Bridge.
Garside’s 38th minute goal handed Athersley their first win in the NCEL since the 23rd October last year.
The crucial victory gets their season up and running after a tough start.

Emley AFC needed a penalty shootout to progress as Avro came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.
Joe Jagger’s double put Emley into a commanding lead after 32 minutes.
Avro pulled one back on the stroke of half-time before equalising with two minutes to go.
