Tadcaster Albion have axed manager John Deacey after the club’s poor start to the season.

Tadcaster are winless in their opening eight games, despite making a string of impressive signings in the summer.

The ex-Farsley Celtic, Bradford (Park Avenue) and Scarborough Athletic chief leaves Tad after just under a year in charge.

A statement said: “Tadcaster Albion have today announced that following the Club’s poor start to the season and with the team languishing in the relegation zone, they have regrettably terminated the contract with Manager, John Deacey.

“We wish to place on record our appreciation of all John’s achievements last season when, having been appointed in October 2021 with the club bottom of the Northern Premier East, he managed to secure our place in the league with just three games left.

“A further announcement will be issued as soon as a new managerial appointment has been made.”
