Goole AFC have appointed their new manager, over a week since Mike Carmody’s exit.
Former Pontefract Collieries manager Simon Houghton has taken charge.
The appointment ends a two-year sabbatical from game for one of Barnsley’s top Non League bosses.
Houghton’s last role was joint manager of Nostell Miners Welfare with Jason Dodsworth.
Houghton’s managerial career began with Kinsley Boys.
He delivered huge success there, earning a move to Ponte in 2008.
His time at Beechnut Lane was outstanding as he raised a ship-wrecked club and turned them into a force.
He also managed Shaw Lane Aquaforce in 2013 and Glasshoughton Welfare in 2006.
He has also held successful assistant spells at Athersley Rec and Glasshoughton.
