Ofoegbu’s penalty fires Stocksbridge to fourth straight win

Red hot Stocksbridge Park Steels moved to within one place of the play-offs after securing a fourth straight league win thanks to the narrow 1-0 success at Grantham Town.

Ify Ofoegbu’s first half penalty was the difference.

But there was late drama as Steels goalkeeper Harrison Davison-Hale saved a late penalty to ensure the points went back to South Yorkshire.

Ian Richards is slowly becoming a manager of the year contender after turning into a band of largely untested NPL players into a solid outfit.

Jack Yates scored the dramatic last gasp winner as Bridlington Town beat North Shields 2-1 at Queensgate.

Ali Aydemir had earlier equalised.

Pontefract Collieries lost 1-0 at Carlton Town.

Second half substitute Brad Grayson ensured Ossett United drew 1-1 with Lincoln United at Ingfield.

Javelle Clarke hit Brighouse Town’s goal in the 2-1 defeat to Cleethorpes Town.

Tadcaster Albion remain winless after losing 2-0 at home to Stockton Town.

Premier Division 

Whitby Town were downed by a last minute goal in the 2-1 defeat to Lancaster City.

Aaron Haswell gave Whitby a second minute lead.

Guiseley were beaten 4-2 at Radcliffe. 

Adam Haw and Joe Ackroyd were Guiseley’s goal-scorers.

Liversedge lost 5-0 at Marine.
