Popular figure Brett Lovell will work alongside Steve Lenthall and his assistant John Whitehead.
Ryan Johnson takes over Lovell’s role as vice-captain.
Former Stocksbridge Park Steels defender Lovell has been with Penistone since 2014 and has consistently been one of their best players during their rise as a Non League club.
He even had a short stint as manager after Ian Richards’ departure before personal circumstances forced him to relinquish the position.
