Ex-Tadcaster boss is new assistant manager at York

A former Tadcaster Albion boss is the new assistant manager at York City who have appointed their new chief.

Mike Morton will assist David Webb, the new York manager.

Morton was Paul Marshall’s assistant for a couple of seasons pre-2015 before becoming Billy Miller’s successor in 2017.

He has been working in the academy at Leeds United in recent years.

Webb is a left-field choice as John Askey’s successor.

His most recent position was head of football operations at Huddersfield Town. He left them in 2020.

He has worked as an academy coach at Crystal Palace and AFC Wimbledon.

He was also previously head of recruitment at Bournemouth and Head of Elite Identification and Player Development at Tottenham Hotspur.

Webb will take charge from Monday.
