Non League Legend Tom Greaves has been handed the Thackley manager’s reins on an interim basis until further notice.
Greaves steps up from his player/assistant manager role following Thackley’s decision to part company with the long-serving Paddy McGuire.
Whether he continues to play remains to be seen, but Thackley probably need him to as he is the joint second top goal-scorer in the Premier Division with 18 goals.
The ex-Bradford (Park Avenue) striker already has significant managerial experience as he was in charge of FC United of Manchester in the National North for 12 months several years ago.
First team coach Harley Hirst and senior players Kris Hargreaves and Aidan Chippendale will assist Greaves.
Thackley are meant to be hosting Hallam tomorrow. A pitch inspection has been called for 10am.
