Emley AFC produced arguably the greatest comeback in NCEL history after coming back from 4-0 down with 22 minutes to go to astonishingly draw 4-4 with Penistone Church.

Penistone had seemingly blown the hosts away inside the opening 20 minutes as Jordan Coduri, Wayne Hughes and Leon Hurles-Brook had given them a three-goal lead.

Even the dismissal of captain Danny Howes did not stop Church as Tom Charlesworth added the fourth early on in the second half.

Iyrwah Gooden scored seemingly a consolation goal for Emley before the dramatic onslaught which saw James Walshaw score and Joe Jagger strike twice.

Thackley star Ben Grech-Brooksbank

Tom Greaves’ interim spell in charge of Thackley began with a 2-0 derby day victory at Eccleshill United.

Ben Grech-Brooksbank and Lewis Waddington earned Thackley their three points.

Amir Berchil and Danny Earl steered North Ferriby to their 2-0 win at Goole AFC.

Garforth Town narrowly won 1-0 at Knaresborough Town.

Debutant Tom Dugdale haunted his former club with the cross which Charlie Marshall turned home.
