New Athersley Rec assistant boss Nev Hunt previously worked with Wayne Thompson at Worsbrough Bridge when Dave Mace was the manager
Former Worsbrough Bridge coach Nev Hunt is the new assistant manager at Athersley Rec.
The appointment ends a week-long search which began when Wayne Thompson was promoted to the top job after Sean Margison resigned.
Highly-rated coach Hunt previously worked with Thompson at Worsbrough when Dave Mace was the manager during the 2014/15 season. The trio did a splendid job after having to rebuild Bridge that year.
Hunt, a former Chesterfield youth coach, has since ran Worksop Town under 21s. He adds a lot of experience to Athersley’s dugout.
Athersley are in action on Wednesday when they host Frickley Athletic.
