Red hot Adam Priestley guided Ossett Albion further away from trouble with a double and an assist in their second consecutive victory.

Albion started the better of the sides and got their reward in the 11th minute when Marcus Day played the ball across for Priestley to give the goalkeeper no chance.

Clitheroe responded well and pressed forward without making any impact on the solid Albion defence so the scored remained 1-0 at the interval.

The second half saw Clitheroe playing some neat football through the middle but again there was no end product to trouble Albion.

The teams had to cope with the snowy conditions but Albion kept resisting and on the breakaway gained a penalty when a Clitheroe defender made a rash challenge in the area. Priestley stepped up and fired the ball straight down the middle to double Albion’s lead in the 86th minute.

Two minutes later Priestley turned provider and played the ball in for Day to get a reward for all his and the whole Albion team’s hard work.
