Nostell Miners Welfare made two big new signings before the national lockdown was announced.
Nostell have lured defender Joe O’Neill and the highly sought-after sharp-shooter Anees Younis from Goole AFC.
The moves are largely down to new Nostell coach Mark Pitts who was Goole’s joint manager until his dramatic departure on Bank Holiday Monday.
It remains to be seen when the pair will actually make a competitive appearance for Nostell but Ian Walker has two diamonds on his books.
Both should have made the step-up to the Toolstation NCEL years ago and they have shown that in their short stints with Goole.
Before joining Goole they were major players for Carlton Athletic in the Pitts glory years in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division.
