After overcoming tricky start, Railway reached the second qualifying round of the FA Cup and broke a string of their own records. They also went on a seven-match winning run at Christmas which helped them flirt with the play-offs.

Wayne Benn as done a marvelous job at Hemsworth with zero budget to pay players and he and his staff have blooded youngsters from the u19s set up, playing a brand of fantastic football which brought the crowds in and saw them go on a 19 game unbeaten run, finishing 3rd in the league with the least amount of defeats, and all with a very moderate sized squad
Wayne Benn and Andy Hayward deserve a lot of credit guiding Hemsworth to 3rd without a budget like the rest they have depended on youth at the club and its work so credit where it’s due
