Westella VIP made their NCEL debut and won 4-3 at Eccleshill United.
Rossington Main also nearly beat AFC Emley until Ash Flynn scored a dramatic late winner to earn Darren Hepworth’s men a 2-2 draw.
Selby Town started the Division One campaign with a bang with the 4-0 hammering of Winterton Rangers.
Pontefract Collieries’ return to the Premier Division after 16 years away did not go to plan as they lost 3-1 to Armthorpe Welfare, who are expected to have a good season.
Mike Garrod’s late goal earned Thackley a 2-1 victory over Barton Town Old Boys.
Handsworth Parramore started as they mean to go on by brushing Pickering Town aside in a 3-0 win.
