Mark Jackson got the perfect send-off from Farsley Celtic

Farsley Celtic gave departing assistant manager Mark Jackson the perfect send-off with the 2-0 victory over Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

The Integro Doodson League Cup tie was Jackson’s last at the club before he takes up his new post at Leeds United’s academy.

Jackson is one of Farsley’s greatest players in recent memory and there will have been tears in the eyes of many.

Two first half goals secured Farsley’s progression into the second round of the competition that they were finalists in last season.

Aquaforce managed to concede from their own goal kick for the deadlock breaker as Ian Deakin’s kick was cut out on the halfway line. The ball was pinged forward and Aiden Savory scored with a low finish.

Farsley played out from the back for the second goal. Defender Kyle Hancock found Savory halfway in Aquaforce’s half. There was a big suspicion of handball, but play carried on and Paul Walker was the player who marched away.

He passed to his old Garforth colleague Chris Howarth and the latter fired home.
