Ossett Albion 1-3 Kendal Town
Kendal Town got revenge for the defeat imposed on them by Ossett Albion earlier in the season.
Albion had a chance in the very first minute when a lob went over Chris Thompson in the Kendal goal but over the goal as well.
In the third minute the referee deemed a challenge in the Albion area to be illegal and Sam Bailey made no mistake from the spot to put the visitors into the lead.
Things didn’t improve for Albion when 6 minutes later a floated Kendal free-kick into the area was headed on by Dan Forbes. It went wide of Albion goalkeeper Brett Souter and into the bottom corner of the net to double Kendal’s lead.
The visitors were full of confidence now and ran at the Albion defence who lacked organisation. Albion battled on and gradually began to create chances but couldn’t reduce the arrears.
The second half continued in the same way until a double substitution, just before the hour mark, gave the Albion play more urgency. In the 68th minute a good run down the left and into the box by Ross Hardaker saw the ball come to Rikki Paylor. He made no mistake as he thundered the ball into the net.
Albion then began to push for the equaliser but in doing so left gaps at the back.
Late on the ball was lost in the middle and Kendal had players over to add a third goal. Alex Newby was the Kendal player whose shot got a deflection to take it over Souter.
