Shaw Lane AFC manager Craig Elliott expects to make a decision on his band of trialists in the next week.
Shaw Lane had five trialists – Darol Lucas (Ossett Town), James Cottingham (Worksop Town), Dan Wilkinson (Rushall) and Ben Algar (ex-Matlock Town) – involved during the 3-1 win at Penistone Church. All five are expected to play at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday.
“I’m actively looking for a couple more players, but we have the base of a squad,” Elliott said.
“I’ve tried to make it so that we have to sign a couple more nearer to the start of the season.
“All the trialists have been training with us very regularly and we have asked them to play in a couple of friendlies for us.
“They will probably start or play on Saturday and we’ll then make a decision on them.”
