Jordan Connerton’s 70th minute goal inflicted a solitary goal defeat on Ossett Albion at Dimple Wells.

Lancaster shaded the first half of this encounter but were unable to get a shot on target after the first minute when Brett Souter in the Albion goal made a good save.

Albion competed well, considering they were struggling with injuries and suspensions, but weren’t able to create any real chances of their own.

The second half saw more determination from Albion and they began to move the ball around, but Lancaster had the better of the chances with one shot rebounding off the cross-bar.

The match was settled in the 70th minute when a long goal-kick bounced over Souter and Declan Dawson was unable to clear the ball and Connerton nipped in to score.

Albion kept going until the end and for a while it looked as though they might snatch an equaliser, but it wasn’t to be as Lancaster goalkeeper Michael Hale foiled their efforts.
