Joe Lumsden secured the victory over Shaw Lane for Stocksbridge
Joe Lumsden ensured that Stocksbridge Park Steels became the first team to beat local rivals Shaw Lane AFC this season.
Lumsden’s seventh minute strike was all Stocksbridge needed to grab maximum points.
Stocksbridge had to work hard for their win as Shaw Lane put them under intense pressure towards the end of the first half. Steels goalkeeper David Reay had to make a couple of important saves.
Lumsden almost grabbed a second goal after some poor defending. Ducks goalkeeper Jon Stewart managed to pull his team out of the fire.
The game slipped away from the visitors towards the end when striker Jack Tuohy was sent off.
