Resurgent Selby Town have made a real statement of intent with the signings of deadly striker Calum Ward and goalkeeper Pete Lawrie.

Both players leave Pickering Town to drop down a Division to play for Nigel Emery and Graham Hodder’s side.

Selby are now up to eleventh and are only two points off the play-offs. Former Tadcaster and Glasshoughton striker Ward is the most eye-catching signing of the two because of his goal record in the NCEL. He did previously play for Selby during Hodder’s brief reign in 2012.

More signings are expected to follow.

Selby host second-place Winterton Rangers on Saturday.
