A second half penalty from Joe Brennan was the only goal of AFC Emley’s third round win over higher league Worksop Town.

It was another victory for in-form Emley, but their fifth clean sheet in a row will have pleased Darren Hepworth the most.

Emley were the far better side against a Worksop side that is currently going through a tricky transition period.

Emley had plenty of chances in the first half, while Worksop’s only real opportunity came through the diminutive Jack Hawkins who fired wide after finding lots of space down his side’s right-hand-side.

Emley goalkeeper Graham McLachlan, captain for the night, saved excellently from Kieran Fenton straight after the interval.

This was before Emley won a penalty and Brennan sent Worksop’s caretaker manager/goalkeeper Jon Kennedy the wrong way.

In the Premier Division, Albion Sports eventually beat 5-3, in a game which was delayed for 40 minutes because of thick fog.
