Pickering Town 5-0 Harrogate Railway

Pickering Town manager Paul Marshall led Harrogate Railway to the FA Cup second round proper in 2002

Paul Marshall led promotion-chasing Pickering Town to a five-goal victory over his old club Harrogate Railway.

The win puts Pickering ten points behind leaders Cleethorpes with two games-in-hand.

Marshall, who is arguably Railway’s greatest manager having led them to the FA Cup second round proper in 2002, watched his current club take the lead towards half-time. Billy Logan got the goal with a header.

There was no way back for Railway as they conceded three goals in 20 second half minutes. Eddy Birch hit two in quick succession before Ryan Blott got Pickering’s fourth after some poor defending from Railway.

Former Tadcaster Albion player George Bissett rounded off the victory in the final few minutes.

The Teams

Pickering Town: Wells, Birch, Danby, Chipps, Bissett, Tilsley (captain), Thompson, Cooper, Blott, Logan, Ingram. Subs: Gabbiadini, Calvert, Robinson, A Marshall, C Marshall.
