Bobby Johnson scored the dramatic winner for Goole at Mossley

Bobby Johnson’s winner at Mossley gave Goole AFC their first win of 2017.

It was certainly dramatic and nail-biting too. Johnson struck close to the hour mark before captain Rob Constable was sent off which meant Goole had to play out the final stages with ten men.

Tadcaster Albion played out a second goalless draw in the space a month with North Wales side Colwyn Bay at Llanelian Road.

Tadcaster’s best chance fell to Conor Sellars. Josh Greening performed a sumptuous piece of skill to beat Danny Collins before seeing his through ball fortunately make its way to Sellars.

With the ball dropping out of the sky Sellars just had goalkeeper Kieran Wolland to beat.

Sellars side-footed first time on the volley and it almost squirmed underneath the goalkeeper but Wolland managed to trap the ball under his legs and collect.

  1. Genuinely shocked to see Goole in the position they find themselves in, i took a game in on my non league travels against Glossop North end back in November & they were superb. I recall North End would have gone top that night. I’m sure around that time they also beat Whitby Town & drew with Blyth, which tells you they had some very good players. urprised Dave Anderson was sacked to be honest, a guy with his experience wouldnt have panicked as results since have shown, and there were plenty of games left to do so. They seemed to have gone backwards since, such a shame.
