GroundHop to put Campion on map

Toolstation NCEL Division One

Campion are hoping to break their record attendance

Andy Shepherd believes the Toolstation NCEL Easter GroundHop will put league newcomers Campion firmly on the Non League map.

Campion kick off the 2017 GroundHop tonight with the home clash with Dronfield Town at the Sports Bulk Stadium and Shepherd hopes it will be beneficial for the club in the long run.

“It is a real chance for us to break our record attendance with it being the first game of the GroundHop,” Shepherd told Non League Yorkshire.

“That would be great. It is a great opportunity for us to showcase what we can do and show how good we are.

“The facilities in terms of the clubhouse and changing rooms are excellent. Yes there is work to do in the ground, but we’ve known that for a while and things don’t happen overnight.

“Hopefully we can also earn some money which can be utilised for moving forward into next year.

“When we got chosen for a GroundHop game we were delighted. We weren’t surprised because we’re a new club to the league.

“Let’s just hope that it is a cracking night for the club and the league.”
