Non League great Andy Hayward bowed out on a high as Hemsworth Miners Welfare rounded off a solid first season in the NCEL top flight with a 2-1 win at Rainworth.

Billy Law and Nick Guest got the goals for Hemsworth, whose fans travelled in fancy dress.

Hayward was given a tremendous farewell as he left the pitch, calling time on a 30-year playing career.

Thackley secured their highest ever points tally as Luke Robinson and Mike Garrod earned them a 2-0 win at Worksop Town.

Ryan Blott incredibly ran in four goals in Pickering Town’s 4-1 success at AFC Mansfield.

Despite taking the lead through Craig Morley, relegated Armthorpe Welfare lost 2-1 to Cleethorpes Town.

Two late goals earned Bridlington Town a 3-1 victory at Garforth Town. Jake Day and Andy Norfolk were the heroes. Garforth’s 30-goal hero Mark Simpson had earlier cancelled out Chris Adams’ opener.

Parkgate won a see-saw encounter at relegated Barton Town Old Boys 5-4. Chris Howard hit a spectacular last minute winner. Danny Harris, Kieran Hirst and Alex Lill (2) were also on the score-sheet for Parkgate.

Joe Walton’s hat-trick ensured Liversedge ended the season on a high with a 3-1 home win over Retford United.

Alex Cusack also hit a treble as Albion Sports won 3-2 at Harrogate Railway.

Aaron Moxam (2) and Alex Rippon struck as Handsworth Parramore won 3-1 at Maltby Main. Keegan Burton scored for Maltby.

Athersley Rec were beaten at home by Bottesford Town.
