Selby Town chairman Ralph Pearse and his new manager Christian Fox

Former player Christian Fox has gone full circle as he has been appointed as the new manager of Selby Town.

The 36-year-old played for Selby as well as a long stint with York City in the Football League.

Fox, who has been described as the “outstanding candidate” was always seen as the favourite due to his long-term vision for Selby. He was officially appointed on Wednesday night.

Fox’s focus is not just on the first team, but also on the junior set-up via his All Star Football Academy business. Fox and chairman Ralph Pearse have been working together since Christmas on the community football project.

Fox, who replaces the sacked Nigel Emery, has been successful with Poppleton United this season.
