Karl Rose is back at Goole AFC

Karl Rose has returned to another of his former clubs after being announced as the new manager of Goole AFC.

Rose, along with James Dudgeon and Lee Straftford, is back at Goole, five years after leaving to take over at Frickley.

The trio replace Derry Robson, David Taylor and Steven Jeff.

Goole said in a statement: “The change in management at this point is due to our reprieve from relegation which was ratified at the league AGM in Blackpool on Saturday.

“The board felt the change was needed to help the club make the best of that reprieve and our need to recruit more experience into the team.

“We place on record our sincere thanks to Derry Robson, David Taylor and Steven Jeff for their fantastic efforts in our battle against relegation last term and hope all decide to remain at the club for the challenge ahead.”

  1. good appointment for Goole, shame for lads that had it before but sure in there heart of hearts they understand. Club need to make sure that they take full advantage of the repreive and dont end up in relegation trouble again and appointing a more experienced managment team is part of this

  2. Sad to see David and Derry go, they gave it there best shot when others didnt want the job last season and were placed in an impossible situation, can understand the boards logic however, lets hope they stay and fight in the trenches, good luck to Carl and James next season

  3. Agree with Dingbat.i Always thought at Frickley Karl did not have the ‘tools to do the job’ last season whilst he was in charge after the previous season doing a credible job for them.

  4. gutted for Derry and Dave great lads, but thats football good luck to Karl, James and Lee
