Danny Critchlow is close to returning to action for Hemsworth

The man who scored the goal which secured promotion to the Premier Division for Hemsworth Miners Welfare is close to returning to action.

Danny Critchlow, whose goal against Dronfield Town in April 2016 propelled the Wells to promotion, has missed the past 12 months because of a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Wayne Benn said: “Danny Critchlow should be back playing in the next 3-4 weeks. This is a great boost for everyone as the lad is a very important player for us and we have definitely missed his quality in the 15 months he has been out.

“We need to be patient and sensible with him but to have him back out on the pitch will be fantastic for all of us.”

Hemsworth have also signed Tafadzwa Mumbanya from Ossett Albion on a dual registration basis.

Benn added: Taf is someone we have been looking at for a while and will prove to be a very good signing. He is versatile in that he can play in a couple of positions. He is quick and accomplished in possession so he will fit into our squad very well.
