New Silsden midfielder Craig Bentham played 30 times for Bradford City in the Football League

Thackley have lost former Bradford City and Farsley Celtic midfielder Craig Bentham to North West Counties side Silsden.

It is a blow to Thackley as the very experienced player was one of their key assets. He was also a vital part of the Thackley side which surprised many last season.

Bentham played 30 times for Bradford in the Football League before dropping into Non League with Farsley in 2008.

Silsden manager Danny Forrest, the former Guiseley striker, told Silsden’s official website: “I’ve known Craig a long time and he’s someone who I’ve tried to get to the club in the past, so I’m delighted to finally get his signature.

“Craig is someone I know well and someone who I trust. He will bring a lot of quality as well as experience and professionalism.

“Bringing someone new into the group was something I had to think about and make sure we got right. We have a tight knit bunch and I have absolutely no doubts Craig will settle in.

“He’ll compliment what we already have and he’s got a great attitude and even after all the years he’s been in the game he still has a raw hunger and desire which ticks a massive box for us.”
