James Kay scored the equaliser for Glasshoughton during his debut

Debutant James Kay won hard-working Glasshoughton Welfare a well-earned point with the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Yorkshire Amateur.

The former Frickley Athletic player’s finely hit strike in the 68th minute cancelled out Brice Tiani’s goal from 60 seconds earlier.

It was a great effort from play-offs chasing Glasshoughton, who had several players unavailable including Andy Horbury, Rob Oldham, Lewis Akeister and Connor Rollinson.

Lewis Bemrose’s penalty gave Winterton Rangers a 1-0 victory at East Yorkshire Carnegie.
