Paul Quinn has left Shaw Lane AFC

Paul Quinn has parted company with promotion-chasing Shaw Lane AFC after their 2-0 home defeat to Nantwich Town – their fourth in a row.

Former Brighouse Town boss Quinn only replaced Craig Elliott in November and he leaves along with his assistants Dave Thompson and Rob Wilson.

“Unfortunately after suffering a fourth straight defeat and without scoring a single goal we felt a fresh impetus was required.” Shaw Lane chairman Craig Wood said in a statement.

“Having dropped out of the play off positions it is imperative that we look to appoint a new management team that can work with the existing squad of players.

“I believe, and have believed all season, that they are capable of challenging for promotion this season.

“I would like to thank Paul and his team for the work they have put in during their short tenure.

“It was a very difficult decision for me to make personally as they have been very professional during their time at the club.”

  1. The nonsense of parting with managers after a few disappointing results, is now affecting the non-league game. Surprise, surprise.
