Brian Davey is the new manager of Harrogate Railway

Former player Brian Davey, the ex-Knaresborough Town boss, has returned to relegated Harrogate Railway as their new manager.

He replaces Marlon Adams and his assistants Michael Reynolds and Lee Ryan.

Davey was in charge of Knaresborough for eight years until 2015. During his reign, he led them from the bottom of the West Yorkshire League Premier Division to the top half of the NCEL Division One table. He also won the NCEL League Cup.

Since 2015 he has managed Knaresborough Celtic in the West Yorkshire League.

He will be assisted by Craig Ogilvie, Simon Brooker and Chris Hirst at Station View.

Railway said: “They are all well aware of the clubs current status on and off the field. They understand the task in hand and are not daunted by the size of the challenge ahead.

“We have all enjoyed the great seasons of the past with monster FA Cup runs and promotions. We are now where we are and will continue to work hard to find success for the future of our great club in what ever guise that may be.

“Please watch out for future news as Brian builds for the new season. Open trials and the preseason programme will all be announced soon.
