Albert Ibrahimi scored the sensational winner for Garforth Town in the dramatic 2-1 victory at Bridlington Town in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round.

Ibrahimi’s goal sealed Rob Hunter’s men’s progression to the First Qualifying Round for the first time since 2012. The win gives the club massive belief going forward.

Garforth had given Bridlington a rough ride on the opening day of the league day and were very unlucky to lose to a last minute goal. This time they got their own back.

A replay had appeared to be on the cards. Shaquille McKenzie’s penalty had cancelled out Curtly Martin-Wyatt’s spot kick opener for the Miners.

However, a clever move at the close ended with Ibrahimi, the younger brother of Harrogate Railway star Fatlum, scoring.

Josh Garbutt got a hat-trick as Knaresborough Town cruised into the next round with a 5-1 win over Blyth. Sam Cook and Steve Bromley also scored.

Paul Beesley and Jamal Stewart scored as Albion Sports drew 2-2 with Guisborough Town.
