Captain marvel James Beaston is immensely popular at Garforth Town and recently celebrated his 100th appearance for the club

Captain marvel James Beaston’s 100th appearance for Garforth Town was celebrated prior to the brilliant 3-0 win over Penistone Church.

Beaston received a memento to commemorate the landmark from the club’s directors Brian Close and Craig Bannister.

Beaston’s arrival at Garforth in 2016 was described as a potential marriage made in heaven by Rob Hunter, who made him his first signing as Miners boss.

It has certainly proved to be the case as the loyal player has proven to be one of Garforth’s best captains since the days of the great Brett Renshaw.

Beaston has previously played for Glasshoughton under Graham Hodder and Hunter and Nostell for Paul Lines and then Kevin Allsop.
