Ossett United had to settle for a point after drawing with Spalding in front of nearly 500 people.

The match started at a frantic pace with neither side settling for the first quarter of an hour. Then United began to exert some pressure and in the 18th minute Marko Basic did some good work on the edge of the Spalding box and put in a good cross which was missed by a couple of United players. The ball was put back in and the final shot was deflected past goalkeeper Michael Duggan by Adam Priestley.

The rest of the half was fairly even with not many chances created so United went in leading by the single goal.

Spalding started the second half the better and within 3 minutes had been awarded a penalty which Leon Mattam converted. United then began to compete and for a good while had Spalding defending desperately. They created some good openings but were unable to find the finishing touch needed to take the lead again.

A header from Tom Corner hit the bar and, after a series of corners, a header from Joe Wilkinson hit the post.
