Reece gets two as Nostell predictively trounce East Hull

Kane Reece scored twice in Nostell’s 6-0 win at East Hull

Kane Reece scored twice as Nostell Miners Welfare predictively ‘went bananas’ in front of goals at East Hull who were crushed 6-0.

With Hall Road Rangers putting nine past them on Saturday, promotion contenders Nostell were always going to have a field day. Only home goalkeeper Harrison Chapman-Dusher prevented it being a cricket score.

The contest was all over by half-time. The popular Reece scored at the far post from red hot Danny Edwards’s ball to break the deadlock in the tenth minute.

Edwards was involved again as his header from Richard Collier’s corner set up Jack Waldron to score on his second Nostell debut.

A Collier strike was the third and a magnificently-taken penalty from captain Rhys Meynell sowed the points up before the break.

Despite their best efforts, Nostell had to wait until midway through the second half to score the fifth – Calum Ward breaking through and finishing.

Reece got his second and Nostell’s sixth with nine minutes to go.

Glasshoughton Welfare were undone by three goals in the opening half-hour as Hallam won 3-1 at Sandygate.

Jordan Turner (2) and Daniel Booth struck for Hallam, while Nathan Perks got Glasshoughton’s goal.
