Carmody to face former club Selby

Mike Carmody’s Armthorpe Welfare will play host to his former club Selby Town in the West Riding County Cup first round.

Armthorpe are entering the competition this season after missing the last years because of concerns over travelling.

Selby-based Carmody, the former Riccall manager, served the Robins as a coach under Nigel Emery in 2016 before taking the Armthorpe job.

He will be desperate to guide his side to victory so he can walk triumphantly around the Town.

The tie will take place in early October.

Glasshoughton Welfare will head to Pontefract Collieries for the first competiive coalfields derby in a few years.

Golcar United’s first venture into the Cup is a home tie against the mighty Yorkshire Amateur.

Rob Hunter’s Garforth Town visit Eccleshill United.

It is James Bicknell/Lee Ashforth versus Jonathan Rimmington when Campion welcome Liversedge.

Knaresborough Town go to Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders Thackley.

Harrogate Railway are at home to Brighouse Town.

Albion Sports are on the road to Steeton.

Barnoldswick Town are at home to Silsden.
