Harrogate Railway’s new Superhero Joe Jagger leapt off his sick bed to score a hat-trick in Des Macorison’s side’s 3-0 win over pointless East Hull at Station View.

Macorison will have been dancing for joy in the Railway dugout as it was his first competitive home victory since his summer appointment.

Captain Jagger, without question the best striker to play for Railway since Nathan Cartman, missed Saturday’s defeat to Dronfield Town because of a back problem, but he was back leading the attack for Railway alongside Toby Harris and Paddy Sykes.

It took only seven minutes for Railway to break the deadlock – smashing home from close range from a ball from a young player with great potential in Kieran Greenway.

Railway laid siege to the Hull goal, but somehow had to settle for one goal at the break.

But they made up for it after the break – Jagger grabbing his second five minutes into the second stanza.

His third came late on with a bullet strike.
