Christian Fox’s Selby Town safely progressed through into the next round of the FA Vase after the second qualifying round victory at Wythenshawe Amateurs.

But only after recovering from being a goal down as Cory Knight pounced on some poor defending.

Selby levelled on the stroke of half-time. Josh Walker went on a surging run and crossed for Chris Jackson to steer the ball home.

Liam Flanagan netted the second on the hour mark after Charlie Clamp and Walker combined to set the striker up.

Jackson scored a late penalty to seal it.

Hall Road Rangers were involved in another Vase goal-fest, this time losing 6-4 at home to Maine Road. Alex Knaggs, Callum Stone, Dan O’Connor and Richard Medcalf scored.

Alhassane Keita’s goal was a mere consolation as Albion Sports lost 5-1 to Guisborough Town.

Liveredge lost 5-1 to Ashton Athletic and East Hull lost 4-0 at Cheadle Town.
