Red hot Luke Mangham got the second half winner as Stocksbridge Park Steels beat old foes Spalding United 1-0 to move up to fifth in the BetVictor South East.

Mangham, who signed a contract this week after taking over the goals mantle from injured star striker Danny Frost, struck after taking on several Spalding defenders.

Stocksbridge have always had good battles with Spalding over the years, with Corey Gregory’s red card for throwing mud a particular memorable moment.

This one was less headline grabbing. Both teams defended resoluted. Michael Trench, talismanic captain Liam McFadyen, Jordan Lemon and Rob Ludlam were outstanding at the back of the Steels, along with goalkeeper Ed Hall.

Frickley Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw at Ilkeston FC. Jonothan Margetts and Brad Wells scored.
