Priestley exits Garforth after draw at Hemsworth

Adam Priestley has left Garforth Town

Gibraltar International Adam Priestley announced his departure from Garforth Town hours after helping draw them 1-1 at Hemsworth Miners Welfare in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

Garforth’s marquee summer signing is looking for a new club after bringing a close to his second spell at a club where he holds legendary status.

He leaves two games into Paul Marshall’s reign which has begun in a positive way – firstly with the 2-1 victory at Eccleshill United and now the draw at promotion-chasing Hemsworth.

Garforth had to come from behind again as Nash Connolly headed home Declan Parker’s corner in the 24th minute.

The lead lasted 14 minutes as Sean Hunter’s effort from an audacious wide angle beat Wells goalkeeper Jordan Greaves. That proved to be the final goal of an end-to-end contest.

Penistone Church stormed to a 4-1 victory at Thackley. Kieran Ryan and Andy Ring (2) scored as Church raced into a 3-0 lead after just 13 minutes. Ryan added the fourth in the second half. Asa Mitchell scored in the final minute for Thackley.

Knaresborough Town lost 1-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare after Joe Pugh scored a devastating 94th minute penalty after goalkeeper Sam Lee was sent off for his challenge that led to the spot kick.
