Red hot Tom Greaves got a double as Wayne Benn enjoyed a dream start to his Ossett United reign with a 3-2 win over Prescot Cables at Ingfield.
The victory, Ossett’s second BetVictor North West success of the campaign, moves them further away from bottom-side Pickering Town who were trounced 8-1 at Trafford.
Benn certainly got his troops fired up as they were three goals to the good by half-time. A quick-fire double from Greaves in the 20th minute raised the roof.
Marko Basic then found the top corner on the stroke of half-time to cement Ossett’s position.
Prescot found a route back with two second half goals, but Ossett saw it out.
