Harris’ move to Knaresborough is pick of day’s moves

Harrogate Railway captain Toby Harris has joined Knaresborough

Harrogate Railway captain Toby Harris’ move to local rivals Knaresborough Town is the pick of the day’s transfers involving Toolstation NCEL sides.

The physical forward’s decision to join Paul Stansfield’s Knaresborough is a major blow to Mick O’Connell Railway as he was one of the star players.

Having taken over the captain armband from Joe Jagger who was given an oppirtnoty he could not turn down by Brighouse Town in October, Harris has led Railway’s front line really well.

But luck has not been on their side and like Jagger, he is almost irreplaceable. Harris stepped up from the West Yorkshire League where he had been playing for Ilkley Town and he acclimatised to the new level with ease.
