Former Bridlington Town striker Jake Day has made the move to National North side Alfreton Town.

The fantastic opportunity continues 28-year-old Day’s rise up the Football Pyramid from the Toolstation NCEL and plants him one Division away from the top flight of Non League Football.

Alfreton are of course managed by former Bridlington chief Billy Heath.

Some might say that ‘The Beast from the East’s’ move to the National North is long overdue because of 85 goals in 107 appearances for Brid.

Day was Bridlington’s star striker for a couple of seasons until moving to Tadcaster Albion last summer. He made light work of the step-up to the Northern Premier League and scored regularly for Tad.
