Tadcaster Albion defender Andy Milne has retired from playing

Long-serving Tadcaster Albion defender Andy Milne has retired from playing due to work commitments and a recurrence of the ankle problem.

Milne has been with Tadcaster throughout all their success in the past seven years.

Originally signed by Paul Marshall in 2014, Milne was a key cog in the side that reached the FA Vase quarter-finals the following year.

He then won the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division in 2016 during the Billy Miller era.

The consistency in his performances have earned him many accolades throughout his career including player of the year awards.

He came through the ranks at Leeds United and went onto play for Darlington in the Football League before dropping into Non League.

Milne wore the colours of Barrow, Gainsborough Trinity, Altrincham, FC Halifax Town, Ossett Town and Scarborough Athletic before joining Tad.
